Tax Preparer Arrested in Threat to Kill Prosecutor

A tax preparer imprisoned in 1995 for grand larceny and indicted for similar crimes earlier this year was arrested on Wednesday for threatening to kill the Manhattan prosecutor who handled both cases, officials said.

The man, Jack Chang, 54, of Bayside, Queens, sent similar letters to the home and office of the prosecutor, a senior assistant district attorney in Manhattan, on June 9, saying that he could hire someone to kill her but that he wanted to do so himself, an official briefed on the case said.

WASHINGTON, June 17 (Reuters) - The Obama administration
will tackle international tax reform in the context of a broad
overhaul of the tax system, a top Obama economic adviser said
on Wednesday.
That admission should relieve corporate America, which has
been lobbying furiously against a plan to raise $210 billion
over a decade by tightening rules for accounting for income
earned by U.S. multinational companies abroad.
